Monster Girl Farmer changelog

# 0.34.00

Characters:

- Three new images of Estelle the raccoon girl have been added! The first is a POV shot of her fully clothed--I say “clothed” in the loosest sense of the word--as she straddles your hips while you’re on your back. The other two contain a nip slip and show her completely topless, respectively.

Features:

- My engine comes with a dialog box that lets you save and load in one place. But most games, especially JRPGs , have separate screens for saving and loading. I love those games (especially Final Fantasy 2us/4j on the SNES). To be more like them, I’ve also split the save/load page into two. Hopefully this makes the game more user friendly.

- Overwriting a save was slightly annoying because you had to delete it first. You’d be surprised how many people requested the ability to overwrite with one click, and that has now been implemented. Well, technically it’s not one click because it pops up a confirmation dialog box asking if you are sure you want to overwrite the save, but you get what I mean.

- Now if you delete a save, it doesn’t just do it, it pops up a confirmation dialog box asking if you’re sure.

- I renamed the "Gallery" to "Image Gallery" in preparation for the upcoming "Scene Gallery"

- Going from menu item passages (like the Journal, Inventory, and Image Gallery) had a complex and confusing system to keep track of where the back button should take you. I’ve simplified this so it always takes you back to the story passage, no matter how deeply nested you are in these menu passages.

- You can no longer visit the image gallery in the middle of a monster girl encounter. You have to wait for the encounter to end first.

Technical Details:

- I've automated later stages of the release process

# 0.33.00

Characters:

- Teta created an amazing image of Lisa the Leech Girl and I’ve added it into the game. If you hate big tiddy goth girls, you may want to avoid this one.

- The new image of Lisa the Leech girl has her swimming on her back, topless. Unfortunately for me, this didn’t actually occur anywhere in the scene, so I had to add it. Per usual, I got a little carried away: I could have simply said, “She floats on her back and smiles,” but I decided to write a 500 word, multi-joke excerpt instead. For those that have already played her 2nd scene (the lewd one), consider replaying it to experience this new content (remember, there are cheats to jump straight to it).

- A new NSFW image of Mivennah the golem girl has been added to the game. It depicts the moment you find her asleep on a stone slab.

Features:

- One of the most requested features has been an image gallery to view all those sexy images in one place without all that pesky content I put my heart and soul into getting in the way (/s).

If you have an old save, don’t worry: the images you’ve already seen will be automatically unlocked in the gallery.

In the future, a cheat will allow you to unlock all the images without needing to view them in-game first.

- In my opinion, the footer content on desktop spread out to wide so I squeezed it in a little bit. It looks much nicer now.

# 0.32.01

Technical Details:

- The only purpose of this branch was to modify code in order to make it publishable on [newgrounds.com](http://newgrounds.com "‌"). But as an added bonus (to myself), I also automated some manual steps I had to take every time I created a patch release.

- Removed newgrounds specific code I added a long time ago. It's no longer necessary and broke styling.

- It should be possible to build a zip without requiring a release

- Automated the process for creating patch releases

# 0.32.00

Features:

- I made some edits to the Field intro scene to tighten up some of the humor.

Bug Fixes:

- The main change in this release is a performance improvement, and it was a doozy. Before I go into specifics, I’m going to cut to the chase and tell you the result of the fix: I had a save that took on second to perform every action. Now it takes ~80 milliseconds. 10 times faster! And it should stay that way no matter how large your inventory gets.

Yeah, so, the inventory system… What can I say? It had a terrible design (in my defense, I am stupid).

For those that want more details, I was keeping track of every item. Every item! Harvested a carrot? I kept track of that. Sold a carrot? I kept track of that. Gave six carrots to the chipmunk girl? I kept track of all six. And I kept track of the day it happened.

That’s a lot of data. The game state became massive, slowing things down: the game engine copies it on every action so that you can undo your choices.

Now, I only keep track of the main character’s inventory and the total they own. Problem solved!

It may sound simple, but the hard part was making old saves backwards compatible. You shouldn’t lose any items from this upgrade. It’s important to me that you don’t have to restart the game every time I release.

Also, some quest code needed to be rewritten. For example, the game used to let you bring Eva with you if SHE owned a collar and you owned a leash, but I don’t track what other characters own anymore.

Phew. I hope you all notice the difference. Wait, do I? No, I hope you never noticed the issue in the first place. But if you did notice, I hope you noticed the difference. Either way, enjoy!

- Two wonderful people in the chat pointed out typos in existing scenes, one of whom goes by the name, “Comrade Soup Beans” (the other prefers to remain anonymous). Typos can really break immersion so I love when people inform me about the ones I’ve missed.

Many of you may not know this, but I injured my hands a couple years ago; I write most content with dictation software and, while the technology is a godsend, sometimes typos slip past my editing process.

If you’d like to help out, usually all I need is a sentence or two with the typo. You don’t even need to explain how to fix it. Thanks!

Technical Details:

- I made a huge refactoring to the code that migrates old saves to the latest structure. The code is now easier to reason about which means less bugs and migrating old data will be faster in the future.

# 0.31.05

Bug Fixes:

- If you revisited a paginated passage, it would start you on the last page. Now it starts you on the first.

# 0.31.04

Bug Fixes:

- Pagination would save your current page number and reuse it on the next pagination passage. This would lead to blank pages.

Apologies for all these pagination issues: I updated to the latest version of the pagination library and my automated tests aren’t as thorough as I thought. It sucks now, but the code will be more robust in the end.

# 0.31.03

Bug Fixes:

- I discovered another major bug things to user feedback: when paginated, buttons in the main area (i.e., the beige background) would disappear. This has been fixed.

# 0.31.02

Characters:

- I added the new snake girl image to the game.

Bug Fixes:

- While checking the snake girl image, I noticed a major bug: no matter how many pages a scene had, the buttons at the end of the scene showed up on the second page.

I have automated tests to catch these types of bugs, but I was dumb: I made the test page 2 pages so it still worked as expected. Now my test has four pages so we can catch this regression in the future.

# 0.31.01

Features:

- The entire UI has been restyled according to my designer’s mock-ups! The game has an entirely new look and feel. If you’ve played it before, you may not recognize it. And if you’ve considered playing it in the past, now’s a perfect time.

This was a huge effort, far beyond what I originally imagined. I’ve restyled lots of websites in the past, but it’s never been as challenging as this: to pull this off I had to change over 8000 lines of code.

Although I’d say the UI looks a gajillion times better, I still consider this a first pass. There’ll be many more in the future, so stay tuned!

The next release will include a new picture of the snake girl, performance improvements, and more!

- Added a cheat to skip directly to Sophie the Centaur's new “donut” scene. Mmm, donuts.

- The version number in the game footer links to the change log.

Bug Fixes:

- If you clicked a checkbox on the cookie banner, the button at the bottom would lose its background. This UI bug has been fixed.

- In the cookie consent banner, there was a checkbox that changed its label to “Allow” or “Deny” when checked and unchecked, respectively. Someone said this was confusing, so now it always says “Allow.” Hopefully that makes your choice more clear.

# 0.31.00

Characters:

- I’m especially proud of this latest scene. It involves Sophie the Centaur; it’s titled, “Mmm, donut”; and it has nothing to do with baking.

See, during the game's introduction you meet Eva the dog girl and have the option to say hello with a “formal greeting.” Ya know, say hello “the dog (girl) way?”

Well, behind closed doors, Eva gave Sophie a “formal greeting” too, and Sophie can’t stop thinking about it! She’s obsessed, really, and now these naughty thoughts keep cropping up but she’s too embarrassed to tell anyone about them but you.

What happens next? Well, dear player, that all depends on you and your kinks. As always, you can do nothing and remain friends. Alternatively, you can help Sophie live out her fantasies by giving her a “formal greeting” of your own. But this time, it can go way beyond sniffing.

Now, I would never be so arrogant as to claim “this is the best centaur donut worship scene ever written.” I mean, how could I possibly know that: I haven’t even read them all. But apparently (and this comes as a surprise to me too), I _am_ arrogant enough to claim this is the best centaur donut worship scene I’ve ever read. In other words, if you have a favorite donut worship scene, send me a link because I’d really like to read it.

Minor spoilers: This scene occurs after you’ve played through Sophie’s previous lewd scene, you’ve played through Olivia the Harpy girl’s lewd scene, and you visit Sophie at the stable without Eva as a follower.

# 0.30.00

Characters:

- A new tree girl has been added to the game! This scene was originally commissioned by me and written by Lope. It started as a random scene, kind of a throw away moment of lewd-ity you could discover by exploring the forest. Because of this history, this character doesn’t have a name besides, “Pine tree girl.”

Once it was complete, I started editing it, and--as tends to happen-- got carried away, expanding it to at least 2x the original size. None of the story beats changed really, I just kept adding meat to them existing bones.

In its current state, I would say it’s been upgraded from “random exploration scene” to “optional monster girl scene.” She shows up in your journal and everything.

SPOILERS: You can find her by exploring the forest entrance, but it’s only available in the full game. Fetishes include macrophilia AKA giant tiny sex (GTS) and, I don’t know the official name of this one but, becoming a human sex toy.

Features:

- Roughly 10 days ago, I released a free patch that added backgrounds to the game. Unfortunately, I think they can interfere/distract with the player’s ability to read the game text, because the words render directly on top of the pictures.

The fix was simple: have a solid color behind text, and put background pictures behind this solid color. I started working on this immediately, but for technical reasons, step one required coming up with an efficient process for changing the style of the game. Unfortunately, that took much longer than expected (though I did get it done).

Given the limited time I had left, I could change the style or I could add some content. I went with the latter. After all, who doesn’t like lewd content? That’s the main reason you’re here, right?

But that still leaves players with a bad user experience regarding those backgrounds. Fortunately, I had time to address that. In the sidebar, you can click the “Settings” button. It’ll open a dialog box where Ive added a new toggle called “Show Backgrounds.”

I’ve defaulted this to off for now, but in the next release, I should have enough time to actually implement the new game UI, and there should be no need for it in the future (and/or, I could change the default to on).

- I have been working with my current artist for multiple months now which, for Monster Girl Farmer, is a huge achievement. So, let me officially announce Teta, Monster Girl Farmer's official artist! I’ve added their names to the game credits with a link to their twitter account.

# 0.29.01

Features:

- Background images have been added to the game. I have a lot planned with regards to the look and feel of the game, so the way this looks now shouldn’t last long. In a matter of days, I plan to make the text background a solid color and these image backgrounds will be behind that solid color.

At the moment, there is a background for each map region. This’ll soon change, too. For example, if you visit the well in the forest, it still uses the forest background. It would be nice if that scene had a well background instead.

I hope you like the new backgrounds and see their potential! Enjoy!

# 0.29.00

Characters:

- New artwork of Olivia the Harpy was added to game!

Bug Fixes:

- When map buttons are locked because they are only available in the full version of the game, they have a lock icon. But when map buttons were locked because you have to progress in the story line to unlock them, they didn’t have a lock icon. For consistency, both of these scenarios include a lock icon now.

# 0.28.01

Characters:

- There was a disabled link in the scene where you return to Lisa the leech girl named, “Since you're offering, sure.” This link is no longer disabled. You get to it by asking Lisa how her milk tastes, and if you click this link, it takes you down a path where you get to taste it yourself!

- Color coding added to the dialogue in Lisa's scenes

Features:

- $5 tiers and above can access cheats that jump you directly to Lisa’s scenes: [https://link.monstergirlfarmer.com/cheats](https://link.monstergirlfarmer.com/cheats "‌")

Bug Fixes:

- In the last changelog I described how to get to a scene most people would likely miss. Yeah, the thing about that is, it had a bug so it wouldn’t work if you followed my instructions. This bug has been fixed so now it unlocks when it should (SPOILER: by bringing Eva when you return to Lisa).

# 0.28.00

Characters:

- This release introduces Lisa the Leech Girl! Before you run away screaming, you should know there’s no blood play involved. I mean, if there’s enough demand, I suppose there could be in the future, but even then, I’d make it optional.

Enough about the future, let’s talk about this new character. I dont know about you, but when I think “Leech Girl,” the first thing that comes to mind is “Big Titty Goth Girl.” Come to think of it, that comes to mind when I think of most things.

Anyway, Lisa fits that description to a T, which is ironic, because no Tees fit her. Get it? 'cause her boobs are so big? Hellooo? Is this keyboard on?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot: she lactates. Milk. From her boobs. And you get to help.

Despite my crass description, the truth is, Lisa’s a sweetheart. On your first encounter, she saves your life. But she’s shy, she’s lonely, and she’s never had a friend. She’s never even had a visitor! So give the dang leech girl a chance.

SPOILER: This character is **temporarily** available in the free demo at the location named, “A Little Creek.“ She will end up in “An Overgrown Primeval Region,“ a location only accessible in the full game, but I wanted to make her freely available first so I could get more feedback. You can only view this scene if you do _not_ bring Eva with you.

- Two pictures (one’s an alt of the other) of the Doe girl have been added to the game. They’re very lewd, so I think you’ll love them.

Random Scene/Quests:

- I added a random exploration scene that fleshes out Eva’s character and gave you a subtle clue about how to find Lisa. This scene is found in “An Overgrown Primeval Region” if you bring Eva with you.

- I wrote a scene I really like but I have a feeling only 10% of players will find it. That's a shame, so I wanted to tell people how to trigger it:

SPOILER: Once you meet Lisa, if you return with Eva and search for her, it unlocks this scene.

# 0.27.02

Characters:

- The next character art will be Olivia the harpy girl. While gathering notes for my artist, I decided to edit a few things in the scene where you trap her. All in all, it’s a few minor changes, but I hope they improve the pace and help readers visualize the scene.

Features:

- Newly styled buttons have been added to the game! This took a really long time for technical reasons I won’t bore you with, but hopefully, you like the new look. Many more visual improvements coming soon!

Since this is a visual change, it’s probable I’ve missed a few places. If you find some buttons that don’t look right, please let me know so I can fix them as soon as possible.

# 0.27.01

Features:

- Woo! Finally working on improving the look of the game. I hired a UI designer who’s made a bunch of suggestions and provided me with some lovely mockups. Since this is a textbased game, I’ve decided to change the typography first. This change alone doesn’t really do the mockups justice, but it’s the first step on a very important journey.

- The new game fonts can be toggled off and on in the settings menu. Im hoping nobody wants to turn them off, but just you find the new fonts to be an eyesore, you can go to the settings and turn the fonts back to the defaults.

Bug Fixes:

- If you explored "A Cheerless Grove" and got the scene where you can eat mushrooms, there was a path that ended in a dead end. This has been fixed, but the workaround is to click the history back button and choose a different path.

- When you first go to town, there is a poor old man you can talk to. Yada, yada, yada, he offers you a farming tool. In the middle of that yada, yada, yada, you could go down a path where you explain how farming works “in the real world,” but if you did, it wouldn’t unlock the option to purchase the item. This has been fixed.

Note: this wasn’t game/quest breaking because you could talk to him again and go down a different path. That path would unlock those purchase options. But _both_ paths were supposed to unlock those options and only one did.

# 0.27.00

Random Scene/Quests:

- Over 40 random exploration scenes have been added to the game: some simple, some complex, some sexy, some weird, some… thing for everyone! They were written by Lope and edited by me. You can find his website here: https://lopewriting.carrd.co/

- There used to be a scene where you could pull on a turnip stuck in the ground. It used to show up anywhere, but now you can only find it at the forest entrance. Also, new content has been added to it. Keep tuggin', and you’ll see.

Characters:

- Added a new image of Eva blushing when you give her her collar.

Features:

- Use a smaller sized picture on the first page so it loads faster

Bug Fixes:

- Regardless of your gender, there were parts of the golem girl's introduction that used male pronouns.

Technical Details:

- Wrote a wiki page for contributing authors explaining how to write scenes for a customizable main character

# 0.26.02

Features:

- Just another tease release. This one updates the cookie consent banner so I don’t have to depend on a third party service for it. I would’ve loved to depend on a third party service for it, but unfortunately, they charged $10+ per site for the banner. This was fine at first, until I realized other websites embed my game.

For those that play on an unofficial site, their first experience is a pop-up saying something is broken, which makes the game’s first impression a shoddy one. More importantly, they would not receive a cookie banner, so I had built my own or else this would’ve cost me an arm and a leg.

On the bright side, I learned how to use CSS grid, which will definitely come into play for the upcoming UI improvements in the next major release, which I can now focus on. Look out for and about five days!

# 0.26.01

Features:

- Apologies for the tease of a new patch, but this change probably won’t affect your gameplay experience.

When you played Monster Girl Farmer on an unofficial site, it used to pop up a dialog box saying you are playing an unofficial version of the game, and you should play on https://monstergirlfarmer.com instead.

I’ve decided to _remove_ this feature because I think these sites are actually helping me with marketing. In hindsight, my only real issue was that they usually host a MGF version that’s over a year old. Going forward, I plan to send them the latest version of the game every time I release.

# 0.26.00

Features:

- Add an event for A Rotten Tree if you've already explored it but haven't visited Perpetual Autumn. This shows up as an icon on the map, informing the player of how to unlock the new location.

Bug Fixes:

- It was possible to see the Estelle/Raccoon girl scene multiple times

- Certain scenes (like the chipmunk girl and the golem girl intros) didn't redirect to their own passage like they were supposed to. Instead, they rendered within a passage with the map and the Explore button. This has been fixed.

- Monster girls weren't always welcoming you with context appropriate messages when you visited them.

Random Scene/Quests:

- Find Chipmunk Girl at Perpetual Autumn.

- Find Snake Girl at A Rotten Tree.

- Find Rebecca at A Bright Path.

- Find Ghost Girl at A Bright Path.

- Find Estelle at A Little Creek.

- Find Mivennah (Golem girl) at An Overgrown Primeval Region.

- Find the Doe Girl at the Forest Entrance.

- Find Angel Statue at A Cheerless Grove.

Locations:

- The area I describe in the chipmunk girl's scene didn't exist in the forest yet, so I had to create a place for you to find her. This new location is called "Perpetual Autumn." You unlock it by exploring in "A Rotten Tree." "A Rotten Tree" use to unlock "A Cheerless Grove," but now "Perpetual Autumn" unlocks "A Cheerless Grove."

Technical Details:

- I made it easier for one location to have multiple sets of outcomes when you explore. For example, on A Rotten Tree, where you find Enoki, sometimes when you explore you'll find decayed wood. This functionality was kind of a hack, so I made this kind of thing easier to do. Now it's easy to code a situation where exploration could lead to an intro of a main character (Enoki), item discovery (decayed wood), or an optional monster girl (Estelle, the raccoon girl).

- The chipmunk girl scene used to give you a survey when it was done and say what would be next for the scene. Since the scene is now complete, I have removed this passage.

# 0.25.05

Characters:

- Edited anatomy descriptions of chipmunk girl's masochistic path.

Features:

- The dialogue in the chipmunk girl's scene is now color-coded.

- The dialogue in the Estelle's / raccoon girl's scene is now color-coded.

- Added the chipmunk girl to the journal

Bug Fixes:

- A couple chipmunk girl passages had no paragraph spacing so they rendered as one giant block of text.

# 0.25.04

Characters:

- I'm happy, so damn happy, to announce I've completed the chipmunk girl scene. This thing is a beast, has tons of replayability, and is by far the most complex thing I've ever written. The lewd scene alone has more choices than I can even count. Your second time through it adds a major chunk of content, a whole new lewd path to explore! It got to the point where I couldn't keep it all in my head and had to install graphing software to map it out.

Let me elaborate on that major chunk of content: the first time you go through the scene, it focuses primarily on gagging and spit fetishes. But the second time you go through it, there's a path you can find to go down a tickle torture route, and/or a sadomasochistic route.

The chipmunk girl was a unique challenge to write. She can "speak," but you can't understand her because her sense of time is much faster than yours. To you, it just sounds like chirps and tweets. I pitched a similar concept to an author I commissioned, and they had no interest in writing a character that couldn't speak. Makes me wonder if they learned their lesson the hard way like me, hah.

OK, I just want to clarify a minor detail. Technically, the scene isn't 100% done. It's more like 99% done: the dialogue isn't color coded yet. I'll add that and release it in a matter of days.

Anyway, the chipmunk girl (her name is Dee, BTW), is a petite little cutie with a tiny booty. Ostensibly timid, once she gets comfortable, she reveals herself to be filthier than a raccoon girl.

- Speaking of raccoon girls. This release also includes Estelle, and you'll never guess what type of monster girl she is. She's crazy and nasty like Dee, but in a more traditional sense: she thinks she's a superhero and goes around, effectively LARPing with normies who have no idea what's going on.

(Holy crap, writing that sentence terrified me. Did I just use a bunch of slurs? I swear, 5 years ago these terms were innocuous, but as I age, the world seems to pass me by. I just want to communicate without worrying about stepping on a landmine. I long for the days when--)

Anyway! Yeah, so Estelle isn't the biggest fan of humans, and since you're the only one who visits the forest, she decides you're her arch nemesis. Naturally, this leads to a huge misunderstanding, the kind where she tries to decapitate you with her giant sword.

Will you live to tell the tale? You'll just have to play to find out...

...that yes, of course you'll survive. The real question is, will the two of you bang behind a dumpster, or in it? Also yes.

Technical Details:

- I changed the survey at the end of the new chipmunk scene so I could identify which minor version I was getting feedback about.

# 0.25.03

Characters:

- Lysandra, the bat girl was added in this minor release. She's a little scary, but in a good way. Zenwick, a new contributor, wrote the scene while I acted as editor. Let me know what you think so I can pass the feedback on to him. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did!

Oh, and it's worth mentioning that part two of this character is already written, I just haven't ported it into the game yet.

This free scene can be found in the demo, randomly popping up when you sleep. If she's not showing up, it means you need to play more of Amy's storyline.

# 0.25.02

Characters:

- A massive amount of lewd content has been added to the chipmunk girl scene. Don't forget to bring some carrots!

Bug Fixes:

- When Amy sleeps over, playing hard/easy/for fun wasn't affecting the outcome of the scene. Now it does.

- For player convenience, I created a test passage that allows you to jump directly to the new scene to try it out. Simply go to https://monstergirlfarmer.com?passageName=Test%20Chipmunk and from there you can play it over and over again. IF YOU ARE USING THIS URL, DO NOT SAVE OVER ANY EXISTING SAVES YOU CARE ABOUT. It's fine to save, just don't overwrite anything important when you do.

Anyway, that's not what this technical issue is about: That test page had a link that was only there for automated testing. It provides no value to a real player, so I have hidden it.

Technical Details:

- I put a different survey at the end of the new chipmunk scene so I could distinguish between which version of the scene I was getting feedback on

- The majority of my time this release was creating a widget that keeps track of *snippets* you've *viewed*. Twine, the game engine I use, keeps track of the pages you've visited, but not the snippets; a snippet is a piece of text that is reused in more than one page.

# 0.25.01

Bug Fixes:

- Release v0.25.00 accidentally used the access code for v0.24.xx. Now v0.25.xx uses the v0.25.xx access code. You can get the latest here: https://link.monstergirlfarmer.com/access_codes

Technical Details:

- I have automated a way to post to my access code and changelog pages, but occasionally, due to Patreon website changes, my automation tool breaks. I have fixed this so I can release with less overhead.

# 0.25.00

- This is a preview of the chipmunk scene. What's there is fully fleshed out, prose-wise. That is, until it gets to the "Under construction" page.

You should be able to find the scene by randomly exploring in the forest. Now, since I haven't completed the feature where you can find monster girls like her in specific locations -- a feature that will ALSO be in the final version of this major release -- and since you are meant to visit the scene over and over again to get all the content, the odds are pretty low that you will be able to run into it when you want.

That's why I've created a special URL for you to try out.

Technical Details:

- Update to the latest sugarcube

# 0.24.01

Features:

- Added an MGF favicon

Technical Details:

- Added Google Analytics 4 with GDPR compliance. All analytics are collected anonymously and the data is never sold or made public. I'm using this information to figure out what scenes are popular and which aren't, the average playtime, etc.

# 0.24.00

Characters:

- This release introduces Rebecca, a mimic girl. For those unfamiliar with the concept of this type of monster, they transform into an inanimate object like a treasure chest and wait for a poor adventurer/poor criminal to open them up. If they fall for the trap, the mimic ambushes them, leading to a difficult encounter.

In the context of the game, it's her personality that is... difficult. She tests if you're worthy to worship her (ever-transforming) body by giving you an "oral qualifying exam." If you pass, she'll take you under her proverbial wing, teaching you important lessons like, "shame is a sin" and, "covetous desires are a sign of faith."

I had a lot of fun writing the scene, especially the transformation parts. As you can see, she has a bold personality and loves having power over you. You can find her by chance when you explore the forest. Just follow the trail of coins.

Features:

- At the moment, there are so many random expiration scenes, the odds of discovering the specific scene you're looking for has become a grindfest. As a TEMPORARY solution to this problem, I'm adding cheat codes for the $5 pledges that allow you to jump directly to the random exploration monster girl scenes.

I see the permanent fix to this problem -- unique scenes occurring in specific locations at a much higher probability -- to be a high priority feature. Implementing it this way is an iteration toward that goal.

- Monster Girl Farmer was always planned to be an epic game, but now it's truly at the point where it's too large for one person to work on alone. I need content contributors, but they need a way of getting up to speed with the game's lore and character personalities. Therefore, I put a lot of time into creating "Contributors Guide" wiki page. It's still a work in progress, but it's already saved me a lot of time. With these time savings, I was able to hire 4 new authors during this release!

Technical Details:

- Completing the mimic girl introduction gives you a survey

- Completing the golem girl introduction no longer gives you a survey

# 0.23.02

Bug Fixes:

- Well this is embarrassing. I introduced a bug where care activities were not showing up in the menus. Long story short, my code said true when I meant false. This should be fixed now!

# 0.23.01

Features:

- The journal page now shows an accurate number of scenes for each monster girl. For example, it used to say Eva had 2 scenes total, but that was wrong because I was only counting the ones unlocked after "winning" an encounter. There's tons more I left out: scenes unlocked by sleeping, exploring the forest, gifting her items, etc.

When you include all those, Eva has 12(!) scenes total -- and for what it's worth, the later ones get pretty lewd...

- Similarly, when you interact with an individual monster girl, her scenes viewed/total count now reflects reality.

- The journal now shows an accurate count of monster girls in the game. It used to say there were 7 girls total, but that was only considering the main story cast. There are just as many optional characters, and now they are counted too. As of this patch, the total number of monster girls in the game is 14(!)!

- Since its existence, the journal always displayed a row for each monster girl you've met and a breakdown of viewed / total scenes. Now it also includes monster girls you *haven't met*. This is super useful, especially if you've played previous versions; at a glance, you can see how much content you missed and how much new content has been added.

- Personally, I think knowing the names/types of monster girls is a bit of a spoiler. So when you haven't met a monster girl yet, her name in the journal becomes '???'.

- If you hover or click on the aforementioned '???', you'll see a tooltip hint about how to discover her.

- If you are playing the demo and you're considering purchasing the full game, these new statistics are accurately represented to give you a sense of how much content is left to discover. In the future, I plan to add the average playtime of the demo and/or the full game.

Technical Details:

- At least half of the time that went into this release was technical. I had to refactor (that's when you clean up code without changing the game's behavior) a major part of the architecture because it was getting harder and harder to maintain over time.

See, when you explore the forest, sleep, or end an encounter, etc. there's a pretty complex mechanism that decides which passage you see next.

Unfortunately, each addition introduced a combinatorial set of ways I could shoot myself in the foot. Like, when I did an overhaul of the encounter system, it became possible to *accidentally* code nonsense like this: "This exploration scene where you bump into a bunny girl is also a reaction to giving Eva dog food."

I'm kind of proud of the code that chooses the right passage, and relatively little of that had to change; the problem was the code that checked if I was shooting myself in the foot. It became so long (1000 line file), I could no longer reason about it.

I found myself writing a rule like "exploration scenes cannot be reaction scenes", only to discover I already wrote that rule somewhere else in a different way... and then only to discover the original was itself a duplicate I made months ago!

So long story long, it took a lot of thought to turn this 1000 line file into something that was easy for a human like me to understand. Anyway, hopefully this didn't bore you to death.

In the end, this had to happen at some point. Otherwise I'd get bogged down in bugs over time instead of adding new features and writing new content.

- Forgive the brag: this patch changed 395 files, consisted of 211 git commits (i.e., version control), added 8772 lines of code, and deleted 6622. Phew.

# 0.23.00

Characters:

- The sexiest component of this release is the addition of a new path for the golem girl's introduction. See, in the previous version, when you got to the lewd part, you could only stick it in her front-butt or her mouth-butt. Now you can stick it in her back-butt too! (Note to self: Add a monster girl to the game with three butts.)

PunishedKom authored this scene and I edited it. Coming in at a well-rounded 3000 words, there's plenty of stuff (mainly butt-stuff, tbh) to explore, so check it out and let us know what you think!

Bug Fixes:

- The golem girl's dialogue wasn't color-coded.

Technical Details:

- The changelog generator did not update the site with the latest release notes. I didn't realize until people informed me. This has been fixed.

# 0.22.00

Characters:

- Added a new picture of Amy the ant girl to the game! I think you're really gonna like this one. Let's just say having four arms has its advantages.

Features:

- Reduce the number of times in a row you can click the history back button to 25 (was 100). This should speed up performance, particularly for autosaving and devices with limited RAM.

- Renamed a button for opting out of "wrestling" with Amy. This used to say "Tomorrow's so important, this seems like a bad idea." It has been changed to: "Maybe some other time. I'm starving!" after i got some feedback on the latest scene survey: "it felt irresponsible to pick any other choice."

Random Scene/Quests:

- This is a massive new scene written by PunishedKom (a lewd writer and artist) and edited by me. As his first contribution, and I mean this in a good way, he went a little overboard: last time I checked, the scene was just under 11,000 words! Needless to say, there's a lot to explore.

One thing of note before I get into details: you must have a penis to encounter scene. You can encounter this scene if you have a penis AND vagina. Also, you can be any pronouns, have breasts or not, etc. All that matters is if you have a penis.

Neither PunishedKom nor I had enough time to add a vagina-only path, but I'd like to do so in the future.

Okay, enough blabbing, I'm sure you're all wondering what this penis-- I mean, scene, is about. While exploring, you discover a path that leads you into an isolated grove surrounded by a wall of boulders.

On the other side of them, you find a sleeping beauty with a giant ruby lodged in her chest like a button, waiting to be pressed.

She's obviously ancient, and who knows how long she's been sleeping there. Her stone gauntlets and boots are covered in moss. Is she some magical weapon of mass distraction, or just waiting for her Prince? Push the button and find out.

SPOILER: Unlock this scene by meeting the conditions mentioned above and exploring the forest. It'll appear randomly and is available to everyone, whether you're playing the demo or the full game.

The following technical details probably wouldn't be interesting to the typical player, but it might be interesting to some?

Technical Details:

- Automated tests should validate correctness of forest scenes even if they are nested in directories.

- Removed the previous "latest scene" survey (a lift and carry scene with Amy the ant girl), because it is no longer the latest.

- Added a "latest scene" survey to refer to the new golem girl scene

- Updated my changelog generator to handle multi-paragraph bullet points so I can be more long-winded in the changelog

# 0.21.03

Characters:

- Edits to the Amy/Eva threesome scene where you receive butt stuff.

Features:

- Cultivator item improves crop yield

- Automate creation of new patches: This is to help me from forgetting some manual step when I create a new patch. Now I don't have to worry about it. Creating a patch will always do the right thing.

Bug Fixes:

- Someone on discord was kind enough to inform me of a bunch of typos I hadn't noticed. Most of them involve the latest Amy scenes.

Items:

- You can now get a key item called The Cultivator. This is a farming tool, and if you own it, your crop yield will be permanently increased every harvest.

# 0.21.02

Features:

- Colorcode and paginate the new poor hobbyist quest

Bug Fixes:

- There was some dialogue mentioning "15 energy," but it was printing out "[undefined] energy."

- If you gave money to Fred, it would act like you gave him carrots, and giving him carrots will act like you gave him money.

- Some paths of the poor hobbyist quest unlocked before they were supposed to

# 0.21.01

Bug Fixes:

- The release script was failing to upload a local file. This made the end of my release script fail, including clearing my CDN cache. Although I have been releasing, anyone who visited the website would still be seeing 0.20.01. Now you will see 0.21.01. Major error. Sorry but it's fixed.

# 0.21.00

Characters:

- Added a new image: Amy's intro!

Features:

- I missed a major implementation detail in the quest system. This will help me write quests easier in the future.

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed some pronoun issues in the "Sophie apologizes" scene

Random Scene/Quests:

- I added the first official quest to the game. To unlock it, complete the field tutorial and visit town. You'll find someone in the town square you can talk to. This quest has a lot of different routes and an ethical choice to be made. It's in the demo, so I hope it gives people an idea of how complex quests could be in the future. I'd love your feedback on it. PS: There is a bit missing from this that will be added in a matter of days: I will be color coding the quest and adding better pagination. The cultivator currently has no effect and does not show up in your inventory. These will be fixed in a matter of days.

# 0.20.05

Bug Fixes:

- The release script was failing to upload a local file. This made the end of my release script fail, including clearing my CDN cache. Although I have been releasing, anyone who visited the website would still be seeing 0.20.01. Now you will see 0.20.05. Major error. Sorry but it's fixed.

# 0.20.04

Characters:

- This is a patch release (meaning people who pledged $5 last month will still have access to it), but it's the size of a major release. Without a doubt, this is the most complex scene I've ever written, and when I say that, it includes my previously completed game. There are so many choices that have so many consequences (some big, some small).

I'd really love to hear what you think, because this is a new style of scene for me. To get to it, you gotta play through the scene were Amy sleeps over your house. When you are asked if you want to continue with butt stuff, say no, and you'll get this scene as an alternative path.

Bug Fixes:

- In one scene when exploring in the forest, you can find a dead animal. It says if you'd brought Eva with she might be able to tell you what happened, even if you actually did bring Eva with.

- Some of Amy's dialogue isn't highlighted purple during her first lewd scene

# 0.20.03

Bug Fixes:

- The archive generator was wrapping its post in double quotes. This is been fixed.

- The archive generator couldn't patch a major release if it is the most recent major release.

- The changelog generator and archive generator were escaping quotes in the post.

# 0.20.02

Features:

- Usually, the "Character" category is the most important aspect of the latest release. That's why I decided to put this category above features in future release notes.

- I'm trying to automate my release process so I don't spend any time thinking about the steps involved. That's why I created this archive generation tool that writes the post for me. Here's a link to that post: https://link.monstergirlfarmer.com/archive This made life a little easier, but not by much. I still had to copy the file and paste into my site. Now, even that part is automated!

# 0.20.01

Bug Fixes:

- After the scene with Amy and Eva, the "continue" button doesn't work.

# 0.20.00

Features:

- This may only interest me, but I found a way to parse the twine language in a way that allows me to find lots of bugs in milliseconds. This will make my development time shorter when building new features and content.

- Look through all passages to discover issues

- I built a state machine to allow complex, open world quests. This is a huge deal, unfortunately, I didn't have any time this release to use the new system. I hope to do so shortly, because I think the game is going to be a lot better when I do! Imagine the game having skyrim-ish quests in addition to the encounter system. 'Uge.

- This may only interest me, but I reorganized a lot of content into different folders and files. It should speed me up a bit because it was becoming difficult to find things.

Characters:

- The main appeal of this release is a scene between you and Amy and Eva. It's so freaking epic, it cost me to release 4 days later than I'd like (I shoot for releasing on the 10th of every month). The scene has got it all: wholesome interactions, gambling, and some kinky lewd content. Hope you like butt stuff. Eva joins in! Being able to lewd her is literally the most requested scene in the game. Full disclosure: the lewd scene is complete for one path, but there are at least two others I plan on doing a later (ideally, immediately).

- Last release, I wrote a large scene between Amy and Sophie, but I didn't have enough time to include any interactions if Eva was following you. Now, Eva content has been added to the scene.

Bug Fixes:

- Last release I wrote a scene where Amy and Sophie meet. The end of it has you outside, but when you clicked on that button in the scene, it took you to the stable. This has been fixed.

# 0.19.04

Features:

- Run changelog and archive generator on release

- You may have noticed I've made a few patch releases (e.g., the x of v0.19.0x). Every time I make one, I have to remember to save the zip and webpage and uploaded to the archival page. This became a pain in the butt, so I decided to automated. Unfortunately, it's not straightforward to automate the editing of posts on this site. Rather than figure it out, I've decided to host archive links on my website instead. That makes it a lot easier to automate.

# 0.19.03

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed a syntax error in a random passage.

# 0.19.02

Features:

- Improve error reporting messages

# 0.19.01

Features:

- Changelog Generator Improvements: I improved a tool that generates changelogs. This only affects me. A header and footer are now optional.

- Error monitoring: Sometimes after release, I end up holding my breath, praying that everything works. I've set up a way to aggregate error messages people receive while playing the game so I don't have to wait for somebody to tell me that it's broken. This'll allow me to fix problems even faster!

# 0.19.00

Features:

- The harvest buttons inform you of how many seeds you have left. They only used to tell you the energy cost.

- I made a tool that automates the generation of changelogs like these. Actually, this feature took up most of my time this month. I have this long-term vision of being able to release the game anytime I want, maybe even daily. I don't know if it's a good idea, to do that, but I think it's important to have the ability, because it means the game code quality is very high.

- I set up another automated script that emails new pledges with important information like the access codes. I hope this clears up some confusion. Sometimes people aren't able to find them after they pledge.

Characters:

- I wrote the most wholesome scene in the game yet. It involves Sophie the centaur girl and Amy the ant girl. The only other thing I want to reveal is how to unlock it: Level up Olivia the harpy once, then visit Sophie. Enjoy! (I'm really proud of this one.)

- There were a couple of very minor things I had to retcon for the scene where Sophie the centaur traps Olivia the harpy. The latest scene might confuse you just a tiny tiny bit if you don't revisit the Olivia one, but it's no big deal.

Random Scenes:

- 16 new random scenes have been written and added to the game. All of them are contributions from Skulldust.

# 0.18.01

Bug Fixes:

- Before you unlock the field, if you buy dog food then sell it, you will be stuck because there is no way to earn money to buy dog food again.

# 0.18.00

Characters:

- Added a logo as a game splash page. Check it out, Eva is the star!

- Added a new picture of Sophie the Centaur.

- When you unlock the ability to use your field (see more below), you also unlock a short scene with Eva.

Features:

- There are now three different types of items in the game: Key, Seed, and Commodity. Key items are unique and necessary for progressing in the story. Seed items can be planted in your field, where they grow into crops. Commodity items can be bought and sold. They can be used in certain quests.

- Your inventory can be filtered by item type.

- It is possible for a seed to be "unlimited." This means you can plant it as many times as you want and you'll never run out.

- The field tutorial unlocks unlimited carrot seeds.

- Certain seeds cost more energy than others to plant and harvest.

- You must have your first encounter before you can use the field.

- You can find seeds when you explore and grow them in your field. This was a big change and it opens up a lot of fun opportunities in the future. I'll discuss one of these ideas at the end. Seeds can't be sold or gifted to monster girls, but the crops they grow can. At the moment, seeds can be discovered by exploring the world.

- There are a lot of webpages hosting old versions of my game. Like over a year old. I've reached out to them to ask them to update, but in the meantime, I have created a white list: if a domain is not in it, there is a pop up warning you that you may not be playing the latest version. It won't pop up if you are playing the downloaded version of the game or on the official site (https://monstergirlfarmer.com)

- The last version of the game had a survey after the latest transformation scene. This has been removed because it's no longer the latest scene.

- I put most of my important links (chat, support, etc.) behind a link redirection service. That way, if I accidentally delete the access code page (again), I don't have to have an emergency release for every version of my game to point to different URLs: I can just change where the redirect URL goes.

Bug Fixes:

- If you zoomed in really, really close in your browser, the active click area for the encounter log would shift. This wasn't game breaking because the hit box was still on-screen, but it was a poor user experience.

- If you entered an access code on a paginated page, full game buttons weren't re-rendered -- they still appeared to be locked even though they weren't. This is really obscure and probably hasn't happened to anyone: the only way I think you could notice this is if your access code expired and you loaded a game on a paginated page and then entered a working access code.

- If you had cheats on (available to $5+ pledges), it was possible to give yourself multiple key items of the same kind (e.g. multiple dog collars). This is no longer possible as it could lead to undefined behavior.

- In surveys, lots of people told me they thought soil was supposed to be used on the field, but they couldn't figure out how. Actually, before I had an encounter system, soil had a different purpose that no longer exists. But I figured, since people think you should be able to use it on your field, I may as well make it something you can use on your field. It increases the number of crops that grow when you harvest. It'll also remove the bird status effect.

Random Scenes:

- Added 4 random exploration scenes for finding cabbage seeds. One of these can refer to a lewd choice you can make at the beginning of the game.

- Added 2 random exploration scenes for finding blueberry seeds.

- Skulldust returns to write 6 new random exploration scenes to the game. You may remember him as the contributor that wrote the Doe girl scene.

Here's a couple of things I'm planning in the near future, ideally in the next release:

- You should be able to invest money into shops so they can level up and offer unique seeds/commodities you can't find anywhere else.

- There should be a lot more random scenes. I'm thinking of looking for freelance writers.

- You should be able to assign Eva to your field to reduce the energy cost for harvesting crops.

- More artwork!

- I want to write the next scene in the main storyline, unlocking more monster girls, some of which will set up shops in town.

- There should should be many more uses for money.

# 0.17.00

Characters:

- I wrote part 3 of the Eva transformation scenes. I don't know if this type of transformation has its own term, but it's a mixture of possession and body swap, I guess? You are in Eva's body, but sometimes your thoughts are hers and sometimes they're your own. Also, as Eva, you interact with the main character, but he/she/they act as themselves.

This may be the most difficult scene I've ever written. It took around three weeks of effort, and it was an emotional writing experience. Most people who proofread it loved it, so it seems like the effort was worth it. This scene is only available in the full game.

The following will tell you how to unlock it. SPOILERS: After you give Eva a collar, there's a random chance you'll start this sequence when you sleep. If you play until the end of each scene, the next part will randomly start when you sleep.

- I was told that Eva's first transformation scene was a little too 'vivid' for some, so I created a new path: now you can decide if you want a 'dark dream that goes into heavy detail' or a 'lighthearted, fun dream where nobody gets hurt.' This was the first thing I worked on after the previous release so my memory is hazy, but I believe the original path got some new additions; the new path certainly did. This scene is in the demo, as is the 2nd.

Features:

- If you purchased the full game then completed the demo characters' scenes, you would still get a demo survey. This was confusing -- some even thought their access code wasn't working. Hopefully I prevented that confusion in the future.

- I made it possible for certain random scenes to be full-game only.

- At the end of the 3rd transformation scene, you'll be given an optional survey to give me feedback on it. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

- I put game links that may change in the future behind a configurable link shortener.

- My demo is featured in the itch "Steamy Summer Hentai Bundle". You should google it because it contains 16 games, and you can choose your own price.

Bug Fixes:

- The doe girl scene had a code typo that suggested you had boobies when you didn't, and vice versa.

- The 2nd Eva transformation scene had a passage where all the text was on one line. I've fixed this and edited some sentences too.

# 0.16.02

Bug Fixes:

- I accidentally deleted the post with all the access codes on it, so when you click on the link to get one, it gives you a 404. You should definitely play with this version. So how's your day going?

# 0.16.01

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed a major bug where if you went through all the choices that you could on the first Eva transition scene, you couldn't see the second scene.

# 0.16.00

Characters:

- Wrote a scene where you can transform into Eva. This scene is in two parts. In the first, you transform into her. In the second, you... have fun with your new body. The following will tell you how to unlock it. SPOILERS: After you give Eva a collar, there's a random chance you'll get this dream sequence when you sleep. If you play until the end, part two will randomly start when you sleep.

- I've improved Fern's scene by referring to your earlier choices at the end of the scene, and adding some distinct details if you have both sets of genitals.

Features:

- The game is now live on monstergirlfarmer.com The previous URL still works, but it will no longer be updated with new releases. Remember to transfer your old saves to the new website! If you go to the old one, it'll give you a warning that explains how.

- I have picked a new name for myself, Bawdy Ink Slinger.

- Some people told me they didn't know how to find their access code after they signed up. I've attempted to make this easier to find: The top of the Patreon about page description links to the access codes. The $5 Patreon tier description links to the access codes. When you sign up to become a pledge, you'll now receive a message with a link to your access code.

- The play/download links are now at the very top of the Patreon about page.

- Wrote a tutorial for how to export and import saves.

- The game tells you if you entered an old access code and offers a link to play the old version.

Random Scenes:

- If you explore the forest WITHOUT Eva, you may run into a Doe girl. This was written by a guest author, Skulldust, and can lead to a lewd scene.

Bug Fixes:

- The "Popup blocker pro" browser extension incorrectly blocks some of the libraries from loading (they've had a ticket to fix this problem that's been open for years). If you are using this extension, I figured out a way to give you an informative error message.

# 0.15.02

Bug Fixes:

- I accidentally deleted the post with all the access codes on it, so when you click on the link to get one, it gives you a 404. You should definitely play with this version. So how's your day going?

# 0.15.01

Features:

- Wrote a tutorial for how to export and import saves

- Give a warning if you are visiting the old Monster Girl Farmer site

# 0.15.00

Characters:

- I rewrote the intro to Fern's lewd scene and nearly doubled its lewd content. Fans of my previous game should appreciate it; this is now the kinkiest scene in the game. I've turned her into a contortionist. Before the scene was pure voyeurism. Now you can join in on the fun! Of course, the voyeurism route is still there.

Features:

- The major feature of this release is splitting the game into a free demo and a paid for full version. This took a lot of work because I had some technically complex requirements I needed to fulfill. In the end, I decided the best way to go was to have the demo and the full game be the same executable, but you need an access code to unlock the full game:

This means your saves are backwards compatible, unlocking the game is a seamless experience (you don't have to download a new game), and it's easy for me to develop both versions and parallel. What I am saying with that last point is, both the demo and the full version are a work in progress and both will continue to improve.

- I have color-coded the map buttons with a new philosophy: colors should represent the action of the button. That is, areas within the map are always orange. Your current location is always read. Buttons that will take you to a different map are always green. And locked areas are always gray. I think this really improves the user experience. If you found the map confusing before, I'd like to know what you think now.

- To further improve map usability, I added relevant icons to the words wherever possible.

- This was a common request on the surveys: now if you try to go to town and you have Eva with you, right then and there you can decide whether to turn around or to leave her behind.

# 0.14.01

Bug Fixes:

- Some items that were supposed to give a lot of affection points gave zero.

# 0.14.00

Features:

- Monster girls react with *relevant* responses when you use care activities, items, run away, fail to run, win a battle, lose a battle, and win with a cheat (available to $5 pledges and up). Before, their actions were random and unrelated to yours.

- Every monster girl has a "Replay Scenes" button on their welcome page!

- Every monster girl has a "Bestiary" button on their welcome page! It explains their breed's background information and lore.

- The battle system has been simplified: your actions cost energy; their affection changes in response. This means you'll always know how much energy you'll lose from an action.

- Running from battle costs energy.

- Your energy is refilled before your first battle. This prevents an unwinnable situation being your first impression.

- Your actions and the monster girls' reactions have been merged into one log message. This way, they don't have to start with, "You use X on Y."

- Discovering Olivia required a lot of luck and/or knowledge that wasn't explained in-game. Now, you'll automatically find her when you meet the requirements mentioned in the v0.12.00 change log.

- You are guaranteed to discover the contents of a landmark after eight failed attempts. Before, with bad luck, this could've gone on for a very long time.

- Monster girls *always* respond to your actions. This didn't always happen in the previous release. Sometimes it would say, "[Monster Girl Name] doesn't do anything." That doesn't make sense anymore: e.g., if you take a monster girl on a walk, the walk itself is doing something.

- When the increase affection button is disabled, it tells you why: you don't have enough energy.

- The screen shakes when you lose energy in battle.

- Some people thought the first survey was the end of content and stopped playing. I've changed the survey's title to clarify that there is more content ahead.

- In shops, an additional back button was added to the top of the page.

Balancing:

- Each care activity costs five more energy points.

- Reduced affection point gains for some care activities.

Random Scenes:

- There's a buttload of new content in the form of monster girl reactions. I'm especially proud of Olivia's.

# 0.13.02

Bug Fixes:

- If you saw Fern's third scene before meeting Hanako, you would sometimes get errors while battling Fern. This has been fixed.

# 0.13.01

Bug Fixes:

– Performance improvement: Now the game only autosaves after battles and after sleeping. Saving on every transition noticeably slowed down performance

# 0.13.00

Characters:

- Added a new picture of Eva!

Features:

- This release adds a major change: the entire gameplay has been ripped out and replaced with a JRPG-like battle system! This took a ton of effort, and I see a ton of directions I could go to build on top of it. I really want to hear your feedback so I know what to prioritize first. If you're curious about the new gameplay, honestly, I think the best way to learn how it works is to view a picture of the in-game tutorial here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/there-should-be-48403758

- I upgraded the game engine so it'll allow you (if possible) to export save files onto your phone as backup. If you have trouble with this feature on your phone, it probably means your phone doesn't give applications access to the file system. That's a known limitation.

- I turned on the autosave feature. Now you won't lose any progress if you accidentally close your tab, hit the back button, etc.

Random Scenes:

- SPOILER: By exploring the forest WITHOUT Eva, you can randomly run into a snake girl. Her scene is over 4k words long. Actually, it's another huge milestone for me because this is the first story in any of my games to have been written by a guest author! Her name is Deos, and she's a wonderful writer. I think you'll love it as much as I do!

# 0.12.03

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed some Sophie text that should have been in her color

- If you try to talk to anybody about Olivia while they are busy on an assigned task, it causes an error.

# 0.12.02

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed a bug where you could get stuck in the inventory or journal passage. If you never experienced this, you don't have to worry about it. But if your save is stuck in this condition, click the sidebar back button until you get out of the inventory and/or journal passages, then play from there.

# 0.12.01

Bug Fixes:

- An error would occur when you gave the sculpture items.

# 0.12.00

Characters:

- SPOILER: Added Olivia the Harpy to the game!

- Added a picture of the Spider Girl to the forest intro!

Features:

- SPOILER: When Hanako joins your farm, it unlocks the ability to find Olivia when you sleep.

- You can ask other monster girls about the harpy girl once you discover her

- When Fern's Affection Level 3, you get a second task to collect "Dead Vines."

- There are some items you can't buy until a condition is met

- It is possible for me (your handsome developer) to prevent certain scenes from showing unless some condition is met

- I made a small edit to the forest introduction scene.

- Remove "Name:" label from the journal

Items:

- You can purchase a Chicken Coop

- Added "Dead Vines"

- Added "Harpy Egg"

Locations:

- Added "Chicken Coop"

- Added "Nest #1"

Bug Fixes:

- If you go to the journal or inventory from a sleep scene, the back button returned you to a blank page

- I figured out why you'll sometimes see a message that says "$follower is following you." and prevented it from happening (yes, again again).

# 0.11.01

Bug Fixes:

- I figured out why you'll sometimes see a message that says "$follower is following you." and prevented it from happening (yes, again).

- It was possible to have a task stuck in "In Progress."

# 0.11.00

Characters:

- Added a new picture of Eva to the introduction!

Locations:

- There is now a General Store in town.

Features:

- You can sell items (!) at the General Store.

- Added a Journal to the game. It's a button on the sidebar that lists all the monster girls you have found, their affection level, their affection points, and more.

- Instead of assigning tasks to monster girls on their Spend AP page, you now do it from your Journal, which can be accessed at any time.

- On your Journal, you're given a rough estimate of when tasks will complete. In the future, I plan to provide an upgrade that lets you know exactly when it will complete.

- The Journal gives you a count of how many monster girls you have, and how many exist in the game. This way you'll know if you're missing any.

- When a task completes, the sidebar flickers once, prompting you to look at your inventory and/or Journal.

- Now when you harvest, you randomly receive Carrots or Cabbage instead of money. You can sell them at the General Store.

- Harvesting costs half the energy it used to.

- The Spend AP page tells you how many purchases you need to make until the monster girl levels.

- Shops can require items as payment.

- Shops can sell upgrades instead of items.

- You can buy a scarecrow at Amy's shop.

- Added a new cheat: at the bottom of the shop page, there are now buttons to add any item that exists in the game to your inventory.

- Created a new type of status effect that can affect your crop yield.

- If you don't have a scarecrow, there's a chance birds will destroy your crops while you sleep. If my calculations are correct (and they often aren't), there's a 1/8th chance of this happening every time you sleep.

- I halved the duration and AP cost of tasks.

- You can now skip the intro and get right into the gameplay.

- I've edited Eva's scenes up to and including the scene where you enter the forest for the first time. These edits are minor, but they should improve the experience.

- Soil, Flowers, and Chocolate Candy Bar are now purchased in the General Store instead of the Pet Shop.

Bug Fixes:

- I figured out why you'll sometimes see a message that says "$follower is following you." and prevented it from happening.

# 0.10.02

Bug Fixes:

- You could spend affection points you don't have to start a task

# 0.10.01

Bug Fixes:

- The welcome text is hidden when a monster girl is performing a task. Since she's busy, she can't say hello.

# 0.10.00

Features:

- I've changed the way you earn monster girl items. The way it used to work is, you'd spend a fixed amount of affection points to get one item. Now, you assign Monster Girls a task and when they complete them, you get items. I'd like to hear what you think about this new feature. If it feels like a step in the wrong direction, it will be easy to revert.

- You complete tasks by using energy elsewhere, so I've created a cheat for five dollar pledges: you can drain all your energy in the Bedroom. This will speed up tasks.

- Cheats require less button clicks. E.g., one click gives you more than enough money/affection points/energy.

- The current and maximum affection level of each monster girl is now shown.

- I've multiplied all affection points by 1000. This was for the path I was going to go down with tasks, but I decided to go in a different direction. I'm leaving it this way because bigger is always better, right?

Bug Fixes:

- If you had a status effect that reduced care activity cost, you still weren't able to perform care activities if your energy was below the standard care activity cost.

- SPOILER: Enoki only gave you extra affection points the second time you gave her decayed wood. Now it happens the first time.

Special Thanks:

- Thank you Coomer Bear. They worked really hard at pointing out typos that needed fixing.

# 0.09.02

Bug Fixes:

- Fixed a typo

# 0.09.01

Bug Fixes:

- I'm not hundred percent sure if I fixed this bug, but sometimes you would see "$follower is following you" in the header. I see a possibility of how this could have happened, and IF that's how it happened, I fixed the bug. If that's not how it happened, at least I ruled out a possibility so it should be easier to track down in the future. Also, if your save was in this state, I fixed the problem for it.

# 0.09.00

Characters:

- Added Sophie the Centaur to the game. Well, she was already in the game, but now you can get her to join your farm.

Features:

- Care activities DO NOT take you to a separate page anymore. This reduces care activity clicks. Half the clicks!

- The energy bars bars animate. They'll shrink and grow when you lose/gain energy, respectively.

- The map is now at the top of the screen instead of the bottom. This is so it doesn't shift around based on the contents of the page.

Locations:

- Added a new map: Barn. In a future version, you will have to buy this from Amy's shop.

- Added Stable #1 to the Barn. In a future version, you will have to buy this from Amy's shop.

SPOILER: To discover Sophie, you must:

- Have Amy to affection level 2 or higher

- Perform care activities on anyone in the forest until Sophie appears in a random location (Look for a "!" on the map)

# 0.08.00

Characters:

- Added Enoki's picture to the game. It's beautiful.

Random Scenes:

- Just in time for Halloween, I've created a spooky well scene. It has a secret to it. Good luck finding it. (This secret is sexual, but barely. It's mostly atmospheric)

- The pink orchard now has its own exploration scenes. It didn't really make sense to find a pond or any green plants there.

Features:

- The author of the scene you are reading is now displayed. So far, I'm the only author for the game, but now I feel comfortable asking for community contributions. Interested in adding something to the game? Let me know.

- Now you can leave me feedback at any point by clicking on a button on the sidebar. The end of game/character surveys still exist.

# 0.07.02

Bug Fixes:

- If you had a status effect, clicking on a Spend AP button would give you an error pop up.

# 0.07.01

Bug Fixes:

- Removed some repetition in prose

# 0.07.00

Features:

- Link to the change log in the game

- Turn energy blocks into an energy bar

- Multiply all energy values by two. This allows finer grained status effects (e.g., now I can reduce care activity cost by 1/10th increments. Before I could only reduce it by 1/5).

- It is now possible to have status effects in the game

Characters:

- SPOILER: Fern gives a tip for the new random scene

Random Scenes:

- Added a new, elaborate scene to the game. You run into a stone angel, twice your size. This is more of a quest, really. I think it would be really fun if there were a lot more quest like this.
